The Oldest Resident of Arrowhead Pass: The Ancient Turtle

Arrowhead Pass is home to plenty of wildlife—songbirds, whitetail deer, wild turkey, raccoons, and the occasional curious red fox. But one day, a truly special visitor made an appearance.

It was seen only once—an immense, timeworn snapping turtle making its steady way across the driveway. With its ridged shell and ancient gaze, it felt less like an animal and more like a messenger from another age. Those who witnessed it couldn’t help but wonder how many years it had wandered unseen, and how many stories it carried.

Since that day, the Ancient Turtle has vanished back into the hidden corners of Arrowhead Pass. Perhaps it resides in the tall flag-grass. It may reveal itself again when the time is right. Until then, the legend lives on, reminding us that Arrowhead Pass holds mysteries far older than ourselves.
